Election-night update: preliminary results
Official source snapshot: November 3, 2026, 8:07:13 p.m. Pacific. Ashleigh Aitken led the reported tally at that update. The count is incomplete and this article does not declare a winner.

| Alfredo Rodriguez | 11,936 | 28.78% |

Percentages describe reported votes in this contest, not the percentage of all eligible voters or all expected ballots. Additional ballots and verification can change totals and margins. Read the official Orange County results and check later updates.

ANAHEIM — November 3, 2026. Anaheim voters are choosing among incumbent Mayor Ashleigh Aitken, physician and businessman Imran Sharief, and general manager Alfredo Rodriguez. The city’s official candidate list confirms all three qualified for the citywide mayoral ballot. Their filed statements offer different accounts of the leadership Anaheim needs.
Aitken seeks another term
In her official candidate statement, Aitken presents her first term as a foundation for further work on affordability, safety, housing and street repairs. She cites ethics and lobbying changes, housing assistance and investment in public facilities. She also claims reductions in crime and homelessness. Those are assertions in her campaign statement; this report has not independently audited the figures.
Aitken identifies herself as an attorney and longtime Anaheim resident. Her statement links to AshleighAitken.com.
Sharief emphasizes services and business partnerships
Sharief’s filed statement calls for rebuilding public confidence, improving safety and investing in neighborhoods he describes as overlooked. He advocates closer business partnerships and an approach to homelessness combining assistance with enforcement. He draws on his medical work and nonprofit leadership to explain his candidacy. These are campaign commitments, rather than adopted city policies.
Rodriguez stresses management and accountability
Rodriguez describes his experience managing an environmental services company as preparation for city leadership. His statement emphasizes public safety, support for businesses, infrastructure spending and financial oversight. He proposes addressing homelessness through support coupled with accountability, while making city government more responsive to residents.
What is confirmed about their personal votes?
California58 has verified the ballot lineup and reviewed all three statements published by the City Clerk. We have not confirmed where or when any of these candidates personally cast a ballot, or authenticated a November 3 voting video. Their participation in this race does not establish that they voted in person today. This article reports their documented campaign positions, not a witnessed voting appearance.
The rest of Anaheim’s municipal ballot
The city also lists council contests in Districts 2, 3 and 6. The municipal election calendar provides four-year terms for the offices being elected and places certification in December. Election-night returns are preliminary and should be checked against the Orange County Registrar of Voters.
